Ved hjelp av løpssimuleringer fra den virkelige verden vet man at
Tarmac SL8 er den raskeste racersykkelen som noen gang er laget i rittene som betyr noe – 128 sekunder
raskere enn konkurrentene over Milan San Remo og 20 sekunder raskere enn konkurrentene over den legendariske Tourmalet-stigningen.

Å levere den hastigheten krever at man skaper en kompromissløs kombinasjon av aerodynamikk, lettvekt og stivhet. Optimalisert for maksimal aerodynamikk med Tarmacs nye nesekjegle – “Speed Sniffer”.
Ved å flytte styrerøret bakover – røret som bestemmer headtubens bredde – kan forkanten av headtuben bli mye skarpere, og dermed gi mye lavere drag.

MINIMUM VEKT, MAKSIMAL AERO: Tarmac SL8 tok lærdom fra Aethos for å kunne bygges med UCIs kriterier, bare med en fullt aero oppsett.
Teamet leverte en ramme på 685 gram – 15 % lettere enn Tarmac SL7 og lettere enn noe annet på World Tour.
